Matemoana's Journey - Discovering good vibes, body confidence and ever-growing strength!

This blog was written by Matemoana, one of our members from our studio in The Mount ❤️️

I started pole sometime around February or March in 2021...

I had been thinking about giving it a go for a few years, I'd even noticed the studio on my way to and from work each day. In the end, I decided I had been thinking about it for long enough, it was time to just jump in and see how I go!

From my very first class, I was amazed to find what I was able to do. I managed to do a little climb and hold a move for a split second, and that was enough to light the spark ✨

After that, I wanted to see how much more my body was capable of doing and I was determined to be able to climb to the top of the pole.

I really enjoy learning new moves - when they start to stick it's such a great feeling. Sometimes the progress you make in each class is only tiny, but it still makes quite the impact - and the strength you start to develop is pretty awesome! Some of the moves are definitely very challenging but so rewarding when you get them...and my coordination isn’t the greatest so that’s always funny 😂

The vibe at the studio is so cool too, from the instructors to your fellow students. Watching everyone around you progressing and getting moves is amazing.

Everyone is encouraging you, celebrating your wins with you and cheering you on 💖 I am so much more body confident and I love it - and a lot stronger in ways I couldn’t have imagined!

I love being a part of an awesome studio and I’m glad I made the decision to jump on board this pole journey 🥰

Do you have any advice you would give to someone starting out at Altitude?

Have fun and don’t be afraid to give it all a go. We all started somewhere and you’ll be amazed at what you end up being able to do!
