Alex has been on and off the pole since 2013, popping up at NZAPP, PoleGear NZ fashion shows and cutting shapes at the NZPIA Ball. Alex is known for her ability as an instructor to talk her students into any number of impossible moves.
Ayana started dancing when she was 3 but discovered circus at 9 years old and stuck to it ever since. She quickly found that contortion was her thing and learnt hand balancing and aerial silks as well. Ayana has started competed in world-wide festivals and has so far done over 300 performances! She loves sharing her skills, and seeing other people improve theirs!
Courtney started her pole journey over two years ago and has been in love with the sport ever since. In that time, she has also developed a huge passion for pole flow and all things heels. While quiet and a little shy, Courtney has grown more confident since starting pole and loves to help other students become confident pole queens as well.
Dani started pole classes in 2017 and after finding both a love and a knack for pole, started teaching not long after. Dani says that aside from Pole being the funnest form of fitness there is, it’s seeing the increase of self love and confidence in students that makes her the proudest.
Georgia started pole in 2018 and has been addicted ever since! She loves seeing her students blossom with their new found confidence and strength. She is passionate about sharing the mix of movement, creativity, strength and flexibility of pole dance as well as creating a supportive and fun space to meet new people.
Lee started taking dance lessons at just 7yrs old and has enjoyed learning many genres. She found pole later in life and thought it would be a fun way to stay fit and meet new people. Lee absolutely loves teaching our very beginner pole students, because she gets to watch them get bitten by the pole bug and watch all of them progress!
Nicole fell in love with pole dance after signing up to classes in 2017 and little over a year later she began instructing. No stranger to the stage, she has 10 years of burlesque performance and teaching experience under her belt! She is passionate about helping students achieve their pole fitness goals and build confidence to showcase their skills on stage!
Piper grew up dancing & cheerleading from the age of 5. After struggling to find a hobby as an adult that ticked all the boxes, she gave her first pole class a go at the end of 2021 and loved every second of it! While typically quite quiet, pole has pushed Piper out if her comfort zone and now she loves helping her students do the same.
Rhianna grew up dancing and cheerleading so when she gave pole a go back in 2017 she was head over (8 inch) heels. It gave her the opportunity to take her dance background and incorporate it into pole. Rhianna loves to see her students progress and excel! She loves the fitness, the creativity and support that being part of a pole studio provides.
Taylah found her love for pole dancing in September 2022 and it quickly became her passion. With a background in gymnastics, cheerleading, and is a certified personal trainer, Taylah enjoys facing challenges and pushing her limits, and enjoys the rewarding experience of watching her students grow both in strength and confidence.
I love making people happy and seeing people succeed! Pole has been my happy place for a few years now and it warms my heart so much to see how this is the same for so many others. When I am not at the studio you will most likely find me cuddling up to my fur - baby Romeo or cuddling any animal I can get hold of.
Cherie has been a student at Altitude for many years and after initially starting as a way to focus on herself, her goals have grown to help others do the same. " I am so passionate about the mental health benefits I've gained through pole and am so excited to help others achieve their own success in whatever way that means for them.
Rosie joined Altitude after discovering how incredible pole is through Massey uni. She is a zoology student by day, but is more often found at the studio teaching, training, or watching pole videos! She adores working on strength, flexibility, and new/crazy/weird moves. Rosie loves sharing her passion for pole, leading our amazing team of instructors.
Amber is our token American, bringing her loud and energetic behavior to every class she teaches and attends. She fell in love with performing through our showcases and now takes every opportunity that comes her way to do just that. She absolutely loves hyping up everyone at the studio.
Avé stumbled across Altitude in 2018, and she fell in love with pole dancing, and where her obsession for it begun. It offered such a unique incorporation of styles and helped her to discover her own. “The confidence pole has given me is crazy, I love sharing my love for pole and getting to be a part of other people discovering their love for the art too.”
Izelle started instructing at our sister studio in Takapuna in 2017. After taking a break from pole for a couple of years, she’s back teaching at Albany. Izelle loves seeing her students progressing in their pole journeys and celebrating with them when they nail their nemesis moves. Outside of pole she is obsessed with her cat and enjoys going out to restaurants.
Pole is more than just a ‘sport’ to me, it is literally my life and keeps me sane, I eat, sleep and breathe it!! So, I love that I get to share something I absolutely adore with students that want to start their own fabulous pole path.
Through pole I have found an empowering community, pride in my tinana and an expressive outlet. My highlight of teaching is when I can see that my student is proud of their tinana and what it can do. I’ve always been into sport, football, kickboxing, powerlifting. I moved to Aotearoa from Ireland in 2018. After months of ‘oh I’d love to try pole dancing’ I finally signed up. I’ve never danced before so I never thought I’d stick with it, let alone now be an instructor!! My favourite part about instructing is meeting new people and seeing student's smash goals.
Finding Pole has given me that hobby in life that I absolutely love and adore. I have loved how it challenges me, both in strength and flexibility. Becoming a teacher has added an additional love which is watching our students grow and reach their goals. It is such a joy to be a part of. Karry Summers is an internationally ranked pole dancer who teaches all over the world. She has been pole dancing since 2008 and is the current Miss Pole Dance NZ, 2013 Australian Pole Theatre Champion and runner up in the 2nd Pole World Cup. Based in Christchurch, Karry travels to Auckland to hold pole masterclasses for Altitude instructors.

Sarah is the epitome of grace and strength. Starting pole in 2009 with Altitude Pole, Sarah is a regular to the professional and competitive stage. Fitness, health, wellbeing and pole are her obsessions, and she just loves to share the knowledge she has in these fields.
Sarah started teaching in 2019 as the president of her local aerial arts club. She loves helping people discover their passion for pole and watching them nail a move for the first time. She loves low flows and encouraging others to find their own style of dance.
Crystal got into pole because I wanted to experience the sexier side of what life has to offer. Her favourite part about pole is the freedom and the never-ending learning journey it takes you on. She loves the satisfaction of working towards something and finally getting it after lots of hard work and effort.
Krisztina is an absolute gem with a graceful style and sweet personality. She also trains in calisthenics and likes moves that require strength. Krisztina likes challenges and loves to see students' expressing and finding themselves through dance.
Jenna/Lee-Lee is a multi-talented aerialist and hair flick queen that joined our instructor team 2015. She was crowned Miss Rising Polestar in 2015 and represented us on the NZ Pole Legends stage in 2016-2019 winning the doubles category 3x times. In 2023 she produced Hair Flicks & Tricks for Pride and is passionate about sharing hair confidence at Lusid Hair.
Amy has over 9 years of experience to bring to the table. She is a certified Personal Trainer, Pole Instructor, Advanced Stretch Instructor, POSA Master Trainer/Coach and Judge. Some of her performance accolades include being the 2022 Pole Inferno Mx Theatrical, 2019 North American Showgirl Grand Champion and Stage Rockstar , and dad joke enthusiast.
Kristine is our resident powerhouse. This bad-ass mum shows us every day what hard work and dedication looks like. With a history of teaching dance, Kristine is an absolute natural she loves being able to combine her past experience with her love of pole, helping students on their journey to confidence and strength.

Runner up NZAPP Intermediate category 2022 Michaela loves to perform. Michaela has been a part of the Altitude Takapuna community since 2017. She's friendly, she's loud, and an all-round epic human. Altitude Takapuna is Rhi's OG studio and it really is like home to her. While you won't see her face around the studio on the regular, she is busy in the background supporting her teams to help make this space the incredible community that it is. Ruby started her pole journey as a beginner at the St. John's studio in 2022 and she has never looked back since. She has a degree in performing arts and loves meeting new members making her the perfect Client Care Manager.
Tess fell in love with pole dancing from her first class back in 2017. Having a passion for music and dancing guided her into the world of pole where she could connect both! Discovering Altitude was the best thing that happened, as she found her place to be. She enjoys learning new moves and creating combos out of them, as well as dancing to some badass heels flow.
Karolien has been passionate about gymnastics/acrogym and dance from when she was 5 years old. After her move from Belgium, she is excited to share her knowledge from her gymnastic background and her passion for pole. She finds joy in supporting others to reach their goals and in seeing people grow and find their own strengths while having a good time.
Ali has been pole dancing for over 6 years and instructing for a large part. She likes to help students find their own strengths and passions, and loves watching them discover confidence in themselves. Known for her small pants, ‘laughter is life’ attitude and love of carrot cake.... and gin....
Pip took her first class back in 2019 and has been hooked ever since. It doesn’t matter where you are on your journey, Altitude has a place for you to shine. Simie’s pole dancing journey started in 2014. She was instantly hooked to the grace and strength pole dancing gave her and never stopped since. She loves dancing with or without heels & every time she’s up the pole she feels powerful and confident. Helping students to grow in their abilities is what motivates her the most as an instructor.
Ashlee joined Altitude in 2020 after struggling to find a hobby she truly loves. Altitude took her by surprise with how amazingly supportive and inclusive the community is. She loves that no matter what mood you are in, pole always has something to offer. The only regret is not joining sooner!
With a love of health and fitness, Cassandra joined Altitude Onehunga to find ways to develop her strength and confidence. Zay started pole in 2019 but discovered her passion for it when she joined Altitude in 2021. Altitude Onehunga has been her home & safe place, with her favourite classes being flow. Georgia started pole at the end of 2019 but really found her groove when she started at Altitude at the end of 2020. She loves the confidence that pole has given her & loves a sport that makes you feel both incredibly strong & graceful at the same time... & damn is she strong! Kate is a long time dancer turned pole addict! She stared pole in 2020 after she went to a party with a pole & didn’t get off it all night! She loves the challenge of pole, getting to do fun tricks & flips. Kate got into teaching pole because teaching comes very naturally to her & she wanted to be a bigger part of the awesome community at Altitude.
Kaena has been a part of the Altitude Family since joining the Takapuna studio in 2017 & started instructing in 2018 & then also at Albany in 2022. Kaena comes from a hugely varied artistic background with experience in a multitude of dance styles & techniques. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and expertise to share with her students.
With an eclectic sports background of swimming and martial arts, Shelby began pole in January 2020 and never looked back. She loves the grace and strength she’s developed (flexibility is a work in progress), and is hoping to pass on her infectious passion for the sport to students!
Emma began teaching at the Altitude Redwood studio in Christchurch & has been teaching for about 2.5 years. With her love of flips she pulled out 3 flips under 3 mins at the March 2023 showcase!
Laura started poling in 2021 to challenge herself & develop confidence. She loves seeing how quickly strength & ability on the pole progresses & has built confidence beyond what she expected! She is super excited to help others experience the same thing in their pole and aerial journey while continuing to challenge herself.
Lulu has been doing pole since 2017 when she joined the Altitude Takapuna studio. Pole is one of her favourite things to do beside drawing and both are a big part of her life. She is super excited to share her passion by teaching as part of the Onehunga team.
Candi started her pole journey in 2021 and quickly fell in love. She jumped at the opportunity to perform in the very first showcase for a new studio and had such fun she did it again and even entered NZAPP 2022. Also a qualified Beauty Therapist and Early Childhood Teacher, she became an instructor for Altitude and enjoys sharing her passion for pole with others.
Annaliese is super passionate about health and fitness as well as mental health. As someone who suffers with anxiety herself, she knows how hard the struggle can be, she loves to help people in any way she can! Annaliese been doing pole for 2 years now, she couldn't live without it! Annaliese also loves lifting weights, drawing, dancing, gaming and singing.
Helen, or as you know her, Elle, has been poling for almost 4 years now and loves how pole can bring together so many different people. Lover of all things strength, stage and dynamic pole you will normally catch her doing some sort of flip, tumble or drop! When she's not at the studio she is usually found at the gym, eating pasta or hanging out with her friends
Tess has been doing pole since 2017. She always had a passion for music and dance, and pole was just a perfect getaway space for me to connect with her body. She enjoys learning new moves, creating combos and dancing to some badass heels flow! She also loves everything on a spin pole, just because it adds that little extra sass to any move!
Myriam - Frenchy, arrived in NZ 8 years ago with hubby and has a kiwi daughter who is 5! She corrects our English accent! Love the nature of NZ and it’s beautiful loving people, so we stayed.

Holly started her pole journey at Altitude The Mount in January 2022, fulfilling an impulsive whim influenced by years of admiration for the strength and grace of pole dancers. Little did she know she would find such an amazing family of supportive individuals! A union advocate by day, she loves the emotional release that pole provides.
Glynn is almost certainly the oldest pole instructor you'll meet; a retired psychology professor, he started pole in 2014 at the age of 63 - and is still performing, competing and instructing (and still learning). When not in the pole studio he can often be found indulging his enjoyment of crossword puzzles.

Maggie has been pole dancing since 2020 - after the very first lockdown. One of the best decisions she made in her life and she has been enjoying it and its challenges up until now. On days that she is not pole dancing, you'll probably see her at the gym, in the cafes having brunch, or just having her normal day as a public servant.
Celina started Pole last year in April, and she loves the strength and body confidence it gives her. Outside of Pole, she also works as a swimming instructor and studies full-time. When not busy with those, Celina goes to Teakwon-Do with her family or does some drawing at home.
Kelly started her pole journey in October 2022. She is a mental health occupational therapist during the day and comes from a background in dancing and competition teaching. She absolutely loves being social and getting involved in team activities and is excited to be apart of everyone's pole journey.
Anneka has been part of Altitude since 2021. She fell in love with pole instantly due to it's fun challenges. She loves learning new combos and finding new exits for moves, as well as improving her moves, and a good improv moment. When she's not at pole, you can find her in the salon creating magic, gaming or working on her car.
In August 2020 I was invited to a FriYay bring-a-friend class at Altitude Drury.I have a particularly strong background in ice figure skating. Joining Altitude was a life-changing experience for me and I'm so thrilled to have the opportunity to help others discover this incredible community that I'm so proud to be part of.

I’m Kelly! I’m originally from England, but moved to New Zealand in 2018. Within the first few weeks of Altitude Drury opening, I was signed up and became one of the founding members. I adore pole dancing and aerial hoop and how they make me feel. I marvel at how strong I've become and how much more accepting I am of my body. I love to help other people feel the same
Finn started her pole journey in early 2019 whilst on maternity leave from her muggle job. No stranger to Altitude Finn has been a student at both the Takapuna and Onehunga studios before taking some time off in 2021 to welcome her second little girl. Finn's pole style is slow and contemporary, bringing out her inner fairy warrior.
With absolutely no dance background and even less coordination Chrissy fell in love with pole and aerials several years ago. She eagerly signed up as a student at Altitude Drury as soon as they opened and is now is thrilled to be teaching and helping others, hoping they too fall in love with such a fun and unique hobby!
After a decade of yoga practice, Nicole trained as a power vinyasa teacher in London while looking after her newborn - turns out even babies love to practice their downward dogs! With a background in dance, she is passionate about movement, and loves the meditative, peaceful yogic practice. She can't wait to have you join her on the mat.
Emma is my name and tricks are my game. You’ll usually find me doing some strength based crazy tricks and combo’s, while banging out the rock music. I have been pole dancing since 2010. I am passionate about everything to do with Pole Dancing. I also love how special it is to each person who comes to learn this art and seeing people grow throughout their pole journey.
Josh started his pole journey at Altitude Drury in February 2020 tagging along with his sister, when he started pole he absolutely loved it. Over time he has been able to conquer some moves (like his arch nemesis super man) with the constant motivation from the instructors. Josh wanted to help others conquer their moves so he decided to become an instructor.

Hey I'm Emilie, I've been dancing on the pole since 2021, it started as a way for me to break the negative social norms of fitness and gym culture. I have not looked back. My focus as a teacher has been on helping my students build strength and confidence through pole, as I believe that pole dancing is an amazing way to do something for you and have fun while doing it
Nika started her pole journey early 2018 and very quickly realised she had found her calling! Jody started pole dancing in 2017 and quickly fell in love with everything about pole.Jody became an instructor and continued to progress by developing new skills and finding joy in helping others start their pole journey. Jody loves teaching students new tricks, helping them reach their full potential and always being their biggest cheerleader
Alyna knew right from her first class, that she wanted to be seriously dedicated to her pole journey. Like many others in pole, she has no formal background in anything, so she is extremely passionate about the potential to be strong and flexy at any age. She hopes to be an inspiration for all her students and enjoys sharing her passion for pole with them.
Emma had always wanted to be an instructor but it wasn’t until she moved to the Hamilton Altitude studio that she started her instructor journey with Nika and the team. Pole is something that has helped Emma to develop confidence, strength and a sense of achievement. Every time she teaches she hopes to share this passion with her students!
After moving cities three times and three Altitude studios later, it’s safe to say that Gemma is a dedicated Altitude fan. Gemma found satisfaction in the muscle ache after class and got addicted to watching her strength grow. Gemma believes the journey is never ending. Seren began her Pole & Aerial Journey in 2017. She instantly fell in love with both. Pole has been her constant love over the years but she has also enjoyed learning and teaching Lyra, Silks and Sling. As an instructor, she enjoys supporting students to try new things and have fun while learning 1001 ways to twist their body around a Pole.
Crystal loves to workout but could never find something that made her want to keep going back…until she found pole dancing,Crystal loves flexi and strength based tricks and has a passion for helping her students grow their confidence through learning just what they are capable of!
Cherry first tried pole in 2010 & fell in love with it she was in awe of the experienced dancers and wanted to do all the cool, pretty things they could do. Cherry's aim is to help students feel more confident, graceful, coordinated & get them more in touch with their sensuality & bring out their inner bad@$$! I want to turn their inspiration into passion!
Ash started her pole journey in 2020 but was absolutely hooked from her first lesson! She grew up dancing/acting back in Australia before starting in the fitness industry and becoming a PT. She loves how pole combines her passions and provides an amazing environment to build confidence, continuously challenge ourselves and be a part of such a fun,supportive community.
Stacey has been pole dancing since 2015 but instructing since 2020. She has a love for all things pole dancing, the strength, the flexibility and of course the heels! Stacey has really found herself again through dancing after becoming a mum and loves to see other women finding their own strength and sensuality in our classes.
Bailee started her pole journey in 2019 she fell completely in love with the sport. Becoming an instructor in 2020 Bailee loves to support others to reach their potential and feel really comfortable in their own skin. You can find Bailee teaching our Pole Level 1-3 classes.
Siobhan is one of our dedicated pole instructors, with years of training and a strong focus on student success. Laura started her journey on the aerial hoops and eventually decided to give pole a try! Since then she has shined and taken her aerial journey to the next level. Laura has a passion for helping others and sharing her experiences with her students. She can't wait to see you in classes!
Kirsty is a trained dancer who worked for Royal Caribbean cruise line for four years. Between contracts she found her love for aerial in London training full time circus. She's been back in Tauranga since 2019, and for straight into teaching. She loves being part of the Altitude The Mount Team, and sharing her passion with others.
Ness started her pole journey in 2018 as a way to keep fit and get back into dancing after growing up doing ballet. She became instantly passionate, and loves how pole allows you to express yourself. Ness is a keen performer and enjoys competing, recently winning NZAPP Hamilton Open heat in 2022, and placing runner up in NZAPP Finals Open heat.
Donna joined pole several years ago because it was something different, a new way to keep fit, and absolutely loved it. The space felt safe, it was non judgemental, everyone was different but all connected, friendships were easily formed, and there seemed to be something for everyone. Still loving making those connections, and seeing students reaching their goals.
Katie has been a part of of the pole dance world for 9 years, and stumbled into the aerial and circus world about 6 years ago. She knew quickly that this was something she was passionate about and worked hard in the competition side of pole dancing, eventually teaching all levels of pole dance. Katie wants to ensure that everyone’s experience with Altitude is positive
With a background in martial arts and Iyengar yoga, my aerials journey began a bit later in life when my daughter introduced me to Hoop and Silks. As soon as I had my feet off the ground, making beautiful shapes and poses I was hooked. I love to pass on my passion for aerials to my students and see them grow in strength and confidence.
Libby has been obsessed with pole for most of the last decade, and loves finding opportunities to perform and compete around NZ, to spread the joy of spreadies! Building strength, flexibility and confidence through pole dance has ignited a passion for movement and health which Libby is excited to share in her classes.
Emma has been dancing since 2004 and pole dancing since 2019. Flowing and moving to music as a group or solo performance has always been a part of her life. Moving from Auckland to Tauranga in 2021 she quickly became an instructor. She is so happy to be a part of the Mount team with such amazing instructors and students!
Natalie comes from a gymnastics background and loves all things flexi. In 2022 she won 3rd place in the Hamilton NZAPP Heats with a pretty epic routine. Outside of her time at the studio Natalie loves spending time with her adorable border collie and soaking up some sun at the beach.
Monique joined the Altitude teaching team in 2022 after being a long-time student at our studio. She loves having the chance to pass on her knowledge and passion to new aerialists beginning their journey. Fun fact, Monique's most recent aerials routine was a doubles act with her daughter.
Larrisa is one of our original instructors, Shes been teaching in this space before it became an Altitude. Her knowledge and experience is such an incredible asset to our team. She loves getting to know her students and helping support them as they progress through the levels.
Perf loves all things flexi and fluid. Starting her pole journey in Wellington Perf moved to Mount Maunganui soon after Altitude opened her and we snapped her up. She has performed multiple times in Pole Inferno, one of those times was in roller skates! Outside of the studio, you can find Perf either on the race track or at the gym.
School teacher by day, pole instructor by night, Maddy brings such an incredible insight to our team with her background in teaching. Maddy was one of our original pole students when we open and soon became an instructor thanks to her passion, personality and drive to help others succeed and build confidence.
Clare is another original team member who has been with this studio since before Altitude took over with a rebrand. Clare recently came back to teaching after taking time out to start her family. She has a huge passion for silks and is excited to be back, sharing her passion and helping students master the art of Tissu
Rachel began her pole journey in Whanganui, performing in competitions such as Miss Pole Queen and shows such as Caburlesque. When she made the move to Tauranga we just had to have her as part of our teaching team. She brings a high level of skill and care to all the classes that she teaches and just loves seeing her students grow both in skill and confidence.
Paula joined the Altitude Teaching team in 2022 after being a long-time student with us. By day Paula is a physiotherapist, she brings to her classes an incredible knowledge of anatomy and body awareness to help her students really understand what they are working on and why. Living a busy life as a mum of four I found aerials as something just for me to make sure I continue to evolve and prioritize my own personal growth and self-care. I fell in love with silks and became super excited to share this passion with others, I love seeing people challenge themselves and make small wins along the way.

Emma is the owner of Altitude Whanganui & Palmerston North and the Head Instructor for Altitude. Her love of pole dance began in 2012 but her passion for performing art began much earlier than that - she used to be a Ballroom and Latin American dance instructor. Once pole dance entered her life, though, it's fair to say that it took over (in the best way possible).

Katelyn has been a dance teacher for over 12 years, specializing in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Contemporary. She started pole dancing in February 2017 and found it challenging but captivating. Despite the difficulty, she persisted and is glad she did. Katelyn takes on life with a bubbly attitude, and hopes you’ll laugh at her jokes with her!

Mel started dancing at age 4 and practised various forms till around the age of 18. She returned to dance after discovering pole in 2018. Jessie took her first pole class in July of 2016 in her mission to find a source of creative output. Pole ignited a fire in her belly and Jessie quickly became passionate about her new found love for dance. Pole Dancing for Jessie is an incredible and safe environment for people to express themselves physically, emotionally and creatively.

Rachael started pole dancing in 2017 after a friend suggested trying out a class. Rachael feels that pole dancing has helped increase her strength and confidence, and she loves being part of the supportive community! Airini has always loved sparkles, costumes and dressing up, and has enjoyed the performative aspects of pole dance. She has made massive gains in strength, flexibility and personal confidence. In her other lives, Airini is a teacher, writer and mum. She currently teaches human biology and chemistry and does a range of writing-related gigs.

Keely has always been passionate about dancing. She has learnt Ballroom, Jazz, Latin, Hip Hop, Tap, Rock and Roll but found true love in Pole Dancing. What makes Keely so passionate about Pole Dancing is the mental health benefits. She is constantly seeing these amazing tricks, thinking "I'll never be able to do that", and then proving herself wrong!

When Lisa first discovered Altitude she immediately signed up for the next FriYay class – and almost chickened out when her friend had to cancel last minute. Walking up those stairs by herself was the start of a newfound passion, and she is amazed at where her pole journey has taken her. She loves wearing glittery pole wear, and the buzz of finally nailing a move!

Laura has always loved dancing, with 25 years of classical ballet lessons behind her. She's also experimented with other dance styles such as modern, contemporary, jazz ballet, ceroc, salsa, & rock and roll. Always enjoying a new challenge, Laura started pole in 2017. Victoria tried pole fitness with a friend in 2018 and has been hooked ever since. Vic is the strongest she has ever been and has found a love of performing through the Altitude Whanganui Studio and the support of her pole family. Pole has helped her break out of her comfort zone, gain confidence, and embrace new experiences!
Natalie is obsessed with all thing flexibility, mobility, strength and gymnastics. She will talk your ears off for hours about these topics if you let her as they are the things she is most passionate about. Her flex classes may be hard and leave you sore for a few days, but you will see flexibility gains and health benefits that make it worth all the hard.
Emma started attending pole classes in 2016 after being invited by a friend. Despite initially only going out of competition, she grew to love the supportive community. Having no previous fitness background, she loves that pole dance can be for everyone. When she's not poling, you can find her up a mountain or on another outdoor adventure.

Min Yen first stepped into the world of pole dancing in 2021. Sports and the gym were her way of staying fit until she met her one true love; pole. Being a Malaysian, she is a huge foodie. Her passion for food is only rivalled by her passion for pole. When she's not munching on that cupcake, she's dropping into that cross-knee release.

Karyn has been dancing and performing from a young age, she continued on with her passion and completed a Bachelor of Performing & Screen Arts majoring in Contemporary Dance in 2014. Karyn moved to the Manawatu (2017) & once settled she thought something was missing, this is where she found pole dancing. 2018 Intermediate NZAPP finalist and 2020 Open NZAPP winner.

Tara started pole in 2014 but found Altitude in 2020. She loves the community and the focus on technique, which she is very passionate about as a Physiotherapist. Tara finds there's nothing better than the feeling when you nail a move or see progress in something you've been working on for a while, and loves helping students achieve this same feeling in her classes.

Kim started doing pole when the studio opened and has been passionate about pole and altitude ever since. Kim's greatest joys in pole are the people and performing. Kim has performed as 6 different Disney characters, 2 DreamWorks characters, an albatross and a murderous plant. Julie-Anna started pole in 2020 because she needed an outlet for her creative energy and fitness. Julie-Anna has traded in chronic hip and back pain for pole kisses and new muscle she never dreamed of. She feels so strong and loves the body positivity from everyone. Julie-Anna loves teaching new students so that they can experience the same joy and personal growth.

Amiya has been dancing for the last 20 years, training in contemporary, jazz and ballet. She started pole in 2020 and has been hooked since! Amiya enjoys the strength and confidence pole has given her. She believes the studio provides a sense of community and a safe space to be yourself. Lauren started pole in 2021, and quickly realised it was going to change her life. She is so excited to help you smash your goals and encourage you to grow confidence, as so many Instructors have done for her. Lauren loves the physical and mental challenges, fun had in classes, positive vibes around body image, and being able to meet incredible like-minded humans.
Abbie started at Altitude pole in Aug 2020, pole was only intended to be a stepping stone along the way to finding a dance studio but very soon she fell in love with the community, the variety of skills and support it provides. Her confidence, strength and overall mental health have sky rocketed and now she would like to share her knowledge and style!

Faye started pole on a whim in 2020 and very quickly fell in love. Pole doesn't just build up strength and flexibility, but self-confidence too. She loves the supportive community that welcomes all walks of life and gives us an opportunity to let that individualism shine! It brings Faye joy helping her students with their journey and having some laughs along the way.
Shaye joined Altitude in 2021 and utilizes his history as a coach and competitor for gymnastics and cheerleading to move his body in new and fun ways on the pole. He loves sharing his knowledge with students, brining fun and expression to the forefront! He may be the toe-point police but he genuinely enjoys watching students crush their goals and gain confidence.
Sophie joined Altitude in 2021 after seeing them at an expo and loving what she saw. She started having done little exercise since having her two children and with no dance background or flexibility. She quickly found something that was just for her, something that she was able to grow at her own pace and learn to increase her strength, flexibility and confidence!
Elle Catraz
Emma started pole in 2016 and immediately fell in love. She has no dance or gymnastics background and believes that pole can be for anyone. She loves creating long combos and is always pushing to learn new ticks and transitions.
Altitude became a big part of Amy's life when she joined in 2022. She has grown confidence, met amazing friends and built strength she didn’t know she was capable of. Her dance may not have much rhythm or coordination but when having fun it doesn’t matter. Her passion is making others feel the best versions of themselves and teaching is another way to fill her cup!
Cassie began pole in 2022 for strength and fitness. As a hypermobile person she used dance as a way to build stability and resilience. Cassie soon found that dance was an amazing physical outlet and a catalyst for their courage and confidence. They want to inspire and empower others to embrace their uniqueness, conquer their fears, and reach for their goals with pole.
By day she can be found doing super interesting nerdy research and by night Izzy can be found at Altitude. Looking to take on a new challenge and go outside of her comfort zone, Izzy found Pole. Izzy loves combining her passion for fitness with her love for teaching and seeing students grow. But her favourite thing is the amazing humans and the fun and safe space.

Jess joined Altitude in 2021, and she hasn't looked back since. Friends urged her to try pole dancing, and she fell head over heels. Jess has been able to improve her strength and self-confidence thanks to pole dancing. She enjoys learning new things in a secure and supportive environment and is always up for a challenge.
Katie has been doing Pole since 2020 and has loved every moment. It's a great way to make new friends and a fun way to exercise as well! Katie loves that you can be yourself in a non judgemental environment which means lots of excitement on her part. Katie loves that there are always new challenges and skills to learn as well and thinks everyone should give it a go.
Zoe has always had a zest for movement and trying new things. When she found pole and aerials back in 2018 it wasn’t long before she was hooked; falling in love with the combination of strength, dance, and musicality that can be explored through each apparatus. Opening Altitude Nelson and being able to share this passion with others has been a dream come true.
Tania has been poling on and off since 2014. After being very unmotivated by gyms, she got involved hoping to find a new and fun way to exercise. Tania quickly fell in love with how empowering pole is and the amazing community that comes with it. She has an odd love of painful moves and tricks, and can often be heard lovingly and loudly encouraging people to try them
In early 2021, India embarked on a thrilling pole and aerials journey, driven by the realization that the conventional gym routine lacks excitement. Monique first started aerials in 2020, with a fear of heights but a lot of determination. Nowadays, you can find her using her dance background to pirouette around the pole, hang from the hoop and sway with the silks. She loves the confidence and strength she has gained physically and mentally since beginning her aerial fitness journey.
In early 2021, Milo joined Altitude Nelson hoping for a new, shiny hobby. What they got instead was a whole new lifestyle. Fast forward in time and Milo is a familiar face around the studio, with a cackle heard from miles away - Milo is often found working on new pole routines and steadily training in silks and hoop. Oh, and don't forget about Stretch and Flex!
Tēnā koutou. Ko Honu Kate taku ingoa. Nō Moutere Honu, Amerika, ahau. Kate, also known as Turtle, went to one hour class a week, for 5-6 years, and poof- she got skilled and now she teaches. Silks enabled her to get out of her mind and into her body, a major contributor to getting into the best shape of her life! Come and have a play with me!
Kia Ora! Kō Fiona tāku ingoa. Fiona first fell in love with circus after her first try on the flying trapeze at the wee age of 8! At 18 she "ran away and joined the circus" working at a summer camp in America where she fell in love with aerial hoop. She joined Altitude in 2021 and loves all the options taking up Pole, Silks, Acro Yoga and of course Aerial Hoop!
Kea started their aerial journey in 2021. Thriving in Altitude's close-knit community, Kea embraced the opportunity to become an instructor. With an encouraging and caring nature, Kea fosters a positive class environment, always maintaining a jovial vibe in their teaching. Cora began her aerial journey in 2015 in Germany. Now in Nelson, NZ, she loves the empowering aspect of aerials, combining strength, flexibility, and dance to express herself. Darren, self-proclaimed wolf-raised, unicorn-trained, embodies positivity & vibrant energy. He revels in laughter, musical antics, and sees the world as a massive playground. Passionate about body movement, he joined Altitude's classes in Sep '22. Appreciating the challenge and inclusive community there, he's eager to provide an equally rewarding journey for others.
Callie started her pole journey in 2020 and quickly became obsessed. She loves the combination of strength, music, dance, creativity and the sense of accomplishment that comes with finally nailing a trick that felt near impossible. Also the fact that everyone's individual talents are always celebrated and the community is full of people striving to better themselves.

Having started her pole journey in 2009, Michelle has a wealth of experience, qualifications and a bunch of competition successes under her belt. She is thrilled to finally have her own happy place where she can share the gift of pole with others - one of her fav things to do. Outside of the studio she is a mum of 3, a lover of nature and has a goal of poling forever!
Noelle joined Altitude in 2017 and quickly became addicted. Her passion for pole sees her regularly performing and competing (and winning) in New Zealand and Australia. She loves the challenges and creative freedom pole has to offer. If not on the pole or on the floor, she'll be snuggling on the furniture, buying squishmellows or telling you stories about her cats.
Despite nerves almost stopping her from coming, Heather started with us when we opened in 2020. She now loves pole, especially how it can be so many things - fitness, strength, fluidity, expression, creation. She can't wait to meet you and see our community grow with an amazing variety of students - you don't need to look/feel/be a certain way, you just need to start!
Georgia joined Altitude in 2018 - one of the first things she truly did for herself. Without any prior dance experience you'll now find Georgia flowing around the pole in what has become an emotional outlet and a way for her to celebrate what her body is capable of. Outside of Altitude, Georgia loves spending time with her toddler, dogs and partner.
Melissa began pole in 2012 but got busy with life. In 2020 after having kids she picked it back up and hasn't looked back. She loves the fun, friends, increased confidence and constant delight in the things she can achieve. Melissa is excited to share her love of pole with you and can't wait for you to learn, grow and experience all the joys pole has in store for you.
Brenna's dance journey began at a young age but she wanted to try something new so in 2018 she joined Altitude. While her first class felt like a "hot mess," she persisted, growing in confidence and strength. Brenna has found that Altitude has given her the space to create a grounding and healthy relationship with her body; she would love to share that space with you.
Laurel started her pole journey in 2018 after several previous failed encounters of 'enquiring'. Despite feeling uncoordinated and frightened of what she'd got herself into, perseverance paid off and pole became a great safe space for her. Laurel is a qualified PT, a lover of freestyle and promises to do her best to encourage, giggle and play along the way with you!
Addy signed up for pole in 2019 and hasn't looked back since. She especially loves the many ways that one can express their creativity and personality in pole dance. She combines her passion for teaching and pole to help her students grow and smash any goals in their pole journey.
Tamara started pole dance in 2015 after getting bored of lifting weights and running on the treadmill at the gym. It was instant love - how could it not be when your new gym shoes are covered in glitter?! Tamara loves pole as a place of escape and she is so excited to share the wonderful world of pole dance with others and to help unleash their inner badass!
Pole has become Libi's passion and life, and the joy it brings being a part of the pole community is something she could not have imagined when she started around 6 years ago. Rosie is one of our awesome pole and stretch instructors! She's recently celebrated a decade of teaching with Altitude. When it comes to all things bendy, Rosie is absolutely in her element. She's got the moves and the passion to help you reach new levels of flexibility and strength.
After watching countless pole videos on YouTube Amelia found herself at Altitude in 2018 where she was instantly hooked - heels, spin and bendy tricks quickly becoming her favourite. She loves to express herself in choreography, especially smooth slinky flow and dynamic tricks on and off the pole. Amelia can't wait to be part of your pole journey and see you glow.
Elle was your typical couch potato with zero experience in fitness, dance or flexibility but in 2014 she took a leap of faith and gave pole a go...and loved it. Experimenting with shapes, creating combos, stretching and flexing is Elle's fav and now she's thrilled to share her passion with you - get ready for an enjoyable journey of learning, growth and loads of fun!
Nicole's Altitude journey began in 2016 but she did her first pole class back in 2011. A regular performer and competitor, Nicole loves all things heels, booty, dynamic & flex. In "normal life" Nicole is a qualified electrician, is addicted to gaming and has found a love for sewing her own costumes. She can't wait to share all things pole and floor/basework with you.
All the way from the Czech Republic, Kristyna started pole in 2018. She has a strong dance and fitness background and is a qualified Personal Trainer and Zumba instructor but it's pole dance that holds a special place in her heart and she can't wait to share that with you. Outside of the studio, Kristyna loves taking photos and hanging out with her furry friends.
Laura found her passion for pole at Altitude in 2012 and has competed in NZ, Australia and the UK. She won NZAPP's expert category in 2016 and spent the next three years abroad training with lots of well known names. She is X-pert 1-2 trained, level 2 gym instructor qualified and is flexibility goals! Laura will get you bendy in no time!
Andrew comes from a triathlon background and joined Altitude in 2014. He is also known as the 3x running NZ Pole Legends Ultimate Male winner.... so you could say he got pretty good at pole! He is renowned for his dynamic strength, endurance and is a big fan of anything flippy. Andrew loves helping students get gains and letting them see what they can really achieve.
Jess is a trained Primary Teacher and Adult Educator who loves to see people learn and thrive experiencing new things. She joined us in 2020 and quickly became obsessed. Jess loves the individuality of pole and loves the friendship and community that comes with it. Jess can’t wait to join you on your pole journey, celebrating the fun and joy it can bring you!

Karry Summers, the founder of Altitude Pole, has been teaching pole dancing since 2010. With a notable record in global competitions, she secured victories in the Australian Pole Theatre and Championships, and earned runner-up at the 2012 World Pole Champs. As an Xpert qualified Master Trainer, Karry eagerly imparts her extensive knowledge to students of all levels.
Pole has become Libi's passion and life, and the joy it brings being a part of the pole community is something she could not have imagined when she started around 6 years ago. Libi loves teaching, seeing students make new friends, gain confidence as they learn new moves, and find their own glorious style.
Tash been poling since 2013 and instantly fell in love with it. She fell in love with how fun fitness can be, how supportive and welcoming the people are and how much confidence it can give you. Coming from no dance or gymnastics background, Tash is the perfect example to show that pole and aerial arts is for anyone! She has a fondness for dynamic tricks and drops!
Rosie is one of our awesome pole fitness and stretch instructors! She's recently celebrated a decade of teaching with us. When it comes to all things bendy, Rosie is absolutely in her element. She's got the moves and the passion to help you reach new levels of flexibility and strength.
Anna (also known by her alter ego Miss Evie X) started with Altitude in 2015. She has a huge appreciation for the sexy, sensual, sassy side of pole and is incredibly grateful to the glorious strippers and sex workers that paved the way for this industry! Lizzie instantly fell in love with pole dancing! The community and the incredible things her body could do amazed her. She's drawn to heels, floorwork, and dance. Being a stripper made her love it even more, appreciating the artistry behind it. Now, she wants to share her passion, boost others' confidence, and spread the joy of pole dancing! 😊
Megan is obsessed with the art that is pole dancing, whether it's fast cheeky movements or slow flow her hearts feeling all the feels that are ALTITUDE. Giorgia joined Altitude in 2020 and quickly fell in love with the sport, becoming addicted! She teaches all the apparatuses: pole, hoop, silks and sling! She also LOVES rolling on the floor in her long pointy heels. Giorgia is a bit of an adrenaline junkie and will never shy away from big drops, fast spins, or famously painful moves.
Sarah Clare Judd started pole dancing in 2021 and instantly loved it for the strength and artistic flow. With a background in singing, dancing, and acting, pole became her space to relax, make mistakes and find success in every class. Now, she can't wait to help others find their flow too!

Brenna's dance journey began at a young age, exploring various styles. After a study break, she craved the dance floor again. Altitude became her new adventure in 2018. Though her first class felt like a "hot mess," she persisted, growing in confidence and strength. Brenna adores flowing with sassy, dynamic choreography that makes you feel like a Queen!
Ainsley joined Altitude in 2021, starting with pole and later falling in love with aerials. Ainsley is the proud winner of the 2023 Aerial Mystic Pop Culture award. Ainsley is also a pro makeup artist. She particularly loves special effects makeup because of all the creepy stuff she can turn herself into. She also loves video games, cosplay and Dungeons and dragons
Caitie has been dancing since she was 3yrs old. She has experience in ballet, contemporary, jazz, and tap. She not only has a Bachelor's in Performing Arts, she's on her journey to become a yoga instructor too. This community has saved her in dark times and made happy days even brighter. She's so excited to share this beautiful space with you all!
Jess found her love for shiny poles and big heels in 2018 when she signed up to Altitude Attitude with her best friend, and has been addicted to dancing in 8 inches ever since! Jess won her first ever pole dance competition at the NZAPP Heats. Jess loves seeing students have fun, grow their confidence and even jump up on the stage!
Nicola started aerials back in 2021 and quickly feel in love. She loves both hammock and silks, but her first love is and always will be Lyra (aerial hoop)! With a background in ballet and dance, Nicola has a special interest in technique, musicality and flow. She also loves exploring beautiful shapes and is a self-confessed spin addict!
Nicole started her pole and aerials journey in June 2020 and has completely fallen in love with the art form! She loves the confidence and feeling that pole and aerials gives! No stranger to the dance industry, she has a Bachelor of Performing Arts in Musical Theatre and has trained in many styles of dance including Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Contemporary and more.
In 2016, watching NZAPP inspired Royce to start pole dancing. With a passion for calisthenics, Royce specialises in strength and dynamic moves. From contemporary flow to heels, Royce experiments with different styles in his performance. Royce has gained a strong understanding of flexibility and mobility from his own journey and can't wait to share that with you.
In 2018, Stacey kicked off her pole dancing journey at Altitude and soon after, she took up aerial hoop too. Through Pole & Hoop, she embraced her inner sass queen and bonded with like-minded unicorns, feeling more connected to herself. Stacey is the ultimate cheerleader, and loves sharing her passion for pole and hoop with others.
In 2018, Petra joined Altitude with two goals: getting stronger and making new connections. After experimenting with various apparatuses she fell in love with the soft silks. She loves creating combos that have a dramatic flair. She enjoys creating a supportive and cheerful atmosphere for all who join her classes.
Felicity joined Altitude in October 2020 and she quickly became addicted to all of the classes particularly aerial hoop. As part of the admin team, you'll likely meet Felicity when you begin your journey at Altitude. Her favourite part of instructing is watching the self confidence grow in students as they become addicted just like she did.
Ruby has been with Altitude since 2016 and teaching since November 2020. She teaches hoop and silks while occasionally flirting with pole as a student. She loves good muscle engagement, scary fun drops, and helping her students reach new heights (pun intended) in all things aerial! Ruby loves the stage and will never shy away from an opportunity to perform.
Becky started at Altitude back in 2013 with no fitness background. She immediately fell in love with the Altitude community and the fun challenge that pole offers. She loves the social aspect of pole, and being a part of such an amazing supportive community. When she isn't training pole or lyra, you can find her out on adventures with her dogs Sweetpea and Ninja.
Beth started her pole journey back in 2019 and it has been one of her passions ever since. She has a love for all things tricky, flippy and dynamic and even took out 1st place for Tricks in the Dynasty Pole Competition 2023. With a background in gymnastics she's not one to shy away from those scary drops, painful moves and unique transitions.
Gail started at Altitude in 2018 and hasn’t looked back since! Gail loves being able to show emotions through movement, a fan of all things sparkly and thrives on creating beautiful shapes on all apparatus types! Altitude has helped her grow into a stronger version of herself (physically and mentally) and she loves helping students achieve the same!
Monique joined Altitude in 2020 to gain skills for her dream role in a musical and fell madly in love! “It’s wonderful being in a room full of powerful woman, cheering each other on for having strength, determination and fierceness . Laura has been poling since 2012. She's tried her hand at a variety of circus skills over the years and now mainly does pole, stretch, and acro. You'll catch her in her regular stretch class and covering when required.

Mel fell in love with pole dancing in 2018 and joined the Altitude family when she moved to Christchurch in late 2020. She quickly developed a passion for silks as well. Mel thrives on stage, particularly when glitter or feathers are involved. She has performed at various events like showcases, NZAPP, Pole Inferno, Pole Stars, and Pole Artistry Grand Masters.
Maqui is a professional dancer and circus artist with more than 10 years of experience. She has a Diploma in Commercial Dance from the Te Auaha Institute of Creativity and her Bachelors Degree. She has trained in various disciplines, including gymnastics, figure skating, and multiple styles of dance.
Georgia started her journey with aerials back in 2018 after watching her friend perform and has been hooked ever since! Georgia has a background in teaching ballet, jazz, hip hop and competitive aerobics. As a full time nurse Georgia loves how aerials is both fitness and fun, being able to fly around and get creative hardly makes it feel like exercise!
Noelle joined Altitude Pole in 2017. Her passion for pole has given her opportunities to perform and compete throughout New Zealand and Australia, nabbing a few titles along the way. She loves the challenges and creative freedom pole has to offer. If not on the pole or on the floor, she'll be snuggling on the furniture or on someone at an Altitude studio somewhere.
