Welcome to Altitude Pole Palmerston North. Join our amazing community where you can experience a fun and full-body workout. Our instructors are super friendly and knowledgable, and they welcome everyone of all skill and fitness levels.

At Altitude, we believe in creating an inclusive environment where you can express yourself and feel empowered to reach your fitness goals. You'll have the chance to unlock your potential, build confidence, and reach new heights!

About the studio

Our studio currently features two separate pole rooms with a total of 21 super tall 45mm Stainless Steel X-Poles. With 12 poles in our Palace and 9 in our Oasis the rooms are beautiful and spacious, perfect to start your pole journey. 

We have a separate lounge area to keep you comfortable while waiting for your class to begin.

Onsite parking and plenty of on-street parking is available down Bisley Street.

Come all the way down Bisley Street, we are towards the end in a big white building. Look for the number 29 on the fence and the large Altitude Sign on the side of the building.

Our timetable is jam-packed with classes throughout the week. Classes run for 1 hour, Monday to Friday we have evening classes and a couple of day time ones. Saturday morning and Sunday Afternoon there are plenty to choose from too. You’ll be sure to find a schedule perfect for you!

    Ready to start your pole dancing journey? Then our Level 1 Pole classes are for you! This beginner-level class is designed to teach you the fundamentals of pole dancing and build body awareness. It's the perfect way to get started on your pole dancing journey.

    Ready to take your pole dancing skills to the next level? Join our Pole Level 2 class! Building on the fundamentals you learned in Level 1, you'll start going higher up the pole and learning to invert. Get ready for a challenging and rewarding workout that will leave you feeling strong and confident. To attend this class you will need to be confident in our Level 1 curriculum.

    Our Pole Level 3 classes build on the skills you learned in Levels 1 and 2, you'll continue to work on invert skills and start to learn fundamental aerial moves. To attend this class you need to be confident in Levels 1 and 2.

    Ready to take your strength and balance to new heights? Our Handbalance class is where you'll learn how to defy gravity with your own two hands. From handstands to forearm stands and everything in between, you'll learn how to balance and hold your body weight in new and challenging ways.

To attend classes at Palmerston North you’ll need to be signed up as a member with us. A membership will give you access to a number of classes per week (starting off at 2 per week). What classes you do, though? That’s totally up to you!

    Emma is the owner of Altitude Whanganui and Palmerston North, plus Head Instructor for Altitude Pole - she just can't get enough of the Altitude family! Her love of pole dance began in 2012 but her passion for performing art began much earlier than that. Once pole dance entered her life, though, it's fair to say that it took over (in the best way possible).

    Kym is super enthusiastic about always having fun at pole! Kym started pole in 2015 with no dance experience, very little fitness and the flexibility of a plank of wood. She loves her Altitude pole family so much for being the best, most supportive people.

    Rosie started pole in May 2018, not realising it would be the a start of a love affair. She loves the fun and creativity she can have with pole, from creating routines to using her sewing skills to make pole wear and costumes. Rosie loves the supportive atmosphere of the studio, and that even on the worst of days by the end of the warm up she is in her happy place.

    Karyn has been dancing and performing from a young age, she continued on with her passion and completed a Bachelor of Performing & Screen Arts majoring in Contemporary Dance in 2014. ⁠ ⁠ Karyn moved to the Manawatu (2017) & once settled she thought something was missing, this is where she found pole dancing. 2018 Intermediate NZAPP finalist and 2020 Open NZAPP winner.

    Tara started pole in 2014 but found Altitude in 2020. She loves the community and the focus on technique, which she is very passionate about as a Physiotherapist. Tara finds there's nothing better than the feeling when you nail a move or see progress in something you've been working on for a while, and loves helping students achieve this same feeling in her classes.

    Kim started doing pole when the studio opened and has been passionate about pole and altitude ever since. Kim's greatest joys in pole are the people and performing. Kim has performed as 6 different Disney characters, 2 DreamWorks characters, an albatross and a murderous plant. Kim is also incredibly passionate about helping her students find their performance style.

Julie-Anna loves teaching new students so that they can experience the same joy and personal growth.

He loves supporting students performance goals and even started up the Dynasty Pole Comp with his friends! Matt loves the way the community is so supportive and encourages everyone to give it a go.

    Shaye joined Altitude in 2021 and utilizes his history as a coach and competitor for gymnastics and cheerleading to move his body in new and fun ways on the pole. He loves sharing his knowledge with students, brining fun and expression to the forefront! He may be the toe-point police but he genuinely enjoys watching students crush their goals and gain confidence.

She started having done little exercise since having her two children and with no dance background or flexibility.
