What to expect.
You’ll come through the big red door, up the stairs, and into a space that feels relaxed and welcoming with a mix of people learning, laughing, and moving together. There’s no pressure to get it perfect — just room to show up, try something new, and feel proud of what your body can do.
Our beginner classes are designed specifically for complete beginners, so you'll be learning alongside other people who are starting their journey too. Your instructor will guide you every step of the way, and before long you'll be surprising yourself with what you're capable of.
Our classes are designed to help you build confidence one step at a time. You'll warm up together, learn new skills, celebrate little wins, and leave feeling just a little more capable than when you walked in.
And once you've found your feet, you'll discover there's so much more to explore - Flow, Flex, Barre, Combos, Acro, Spin Pole, Showcase opportunities, workshops, photoshoots, social events, and a community that will be cheering you on the whole way.

We didn't write these... but our members did.
What's on our Timetable.

Start as a beginner. Stay for the journey.
Altitude Pole Whanganui offers beginner through to advanced pole classes, giving you a clear pathway to grow your skills, confidence, and strength over time, starting in Level 1.
But the magic happens beyond the levels too.
Flow classes help you dance. Flex classes help you move more freely. Barre builds strength. Combos teaches you to connect everything together. Acro helps you build balance, coordination, and trust in your body. Pole Play gives you space to explore and practise.
Whatever brought you through the doors, you'll find classes that challenge you, support you, and keep you excited to come back for more.
A few things people usually wonder about.
Will I fit in?
Yes. The community at Altitude is actually the thing people talk about most. It tends to make even the most nervous first-timers feel at home pretty fast. It's our best flex.
What if I struggle in class?
Finding your feet with something new is just part of the process - and honestly, it's where a lot of the fun lives. Every class is full of people all figuring it out together.
Do I need to be fit or strong to start?
Nope. Level 1 is designed for people starting from scratch - no experience, no upper body strength required. That stuff comes with the classes.
Go on, give it a go 😏
You'll never know till you know...
Here's how you can give classes a go at Altitude Whanganui, no strings attached.

What comes after a Starter Pass?
That would be one of our memberships.
At some point pole stops being something you're testing out and starts being something you just... do.
Classes get a permanent slot in your week. You might start scheduling the rest of your life around them (which is actually just making yourself a priority, ya know?)
That's what our memberships are for. Regular classes to keep chasing those wins.

How to find us
We’re tucked away in the heart of Whanganui - a bright, spacious studio designed to feel welcoming the moment you walk in.
When you arrive, just come on in and make yourself at home. We recommend coming a few minutes early for your first class so you can settle in, say hi to your instructor, and get comfortable before we start.
If you’re not sure where to go, just follow the music (or the laughter) - you’ll find us!
Parking
There’s plenty of on-street parking right outside the studio, but on Saturday mornings we recommend allowing extra time to find a park as the Whanganui markets can make things a bit busier than usual.
