Staying active when life gets in the way
Life interrupting your exercise routine? 💔
One minute you’re all set for your next class and the next, bam! a holiday pops up, work hours shift, or family visits take over your schedule. We get it. Sometimes, getting into the studio just isn’t in the cards.
But here’s the thing: just because you’ve come across an obstacle, doesn’t mean you should push pause on your fitness.
Let’s be real.. nothing is going to feel as good as your regular class or routine! 😅 But keeping your body moving makes a massive difference for when you do get back into your scheduled programming! It’ll help maintain your strength, flexibility, and cardio.
On the flip side, when you stop exercising, it’s easy to notice it later: your movement might feel a bit slower, your stamina might dip, and that spark of progress can feel like it’s flickering - no one wants that!
Staying active doesn’t have to be complicated or fancy. Here are some ways you can keep active away from the studio:
Take a stroll, jog, or bike ride around your area. Bonus points if you wave at a dog or two!
Push the coffee table aside and follow a free yoga class on youtube
On holiday? Scope out the hotel gym, or make a splash in the pool
Ditch the elevator and take the stairs
Kitchen workouts: a couple of kumara make for great weights! Squats while stirring your dinner. It’s multi-tasking at its finest!
Dance it out! No pole required, just put on your favourite song and have a boogie!
Netflix and stretch anyone?
Sometimes, life calls for a break, and that’s perfectly fine. Rest and recovery are part of the journey too! But even small bits of movement add up, keeping your body ready to leap back into things without missing a beat!
So, next time you’re on holiday or hosting visitors, don’t stress. Just lace up those shoes, roll out that mat, or do whatever it takes to keep your body smiling. Your future self will thank you 🩷
