We caught up with three of our Altitude Ambassadors to find out what they love about pole and what they want others to know too.. and the responses are pretty amazing š„¹

Meet Lizi!Ā š§”
Lizi has been with Altitude for just over four years. She saw an Altitude video online and thought "I wanna do that!", however she never expected Altitude to become as big a part of her life as it is now. Here's what Lizi had to say about AltitudeĀ Ā šš„°
Was there a positive benefit [from Altitude/pole]Ā you experienced that you weren't expecting?
āHow great the Altitude community is and how genuinely awesome the people are. I have made some of my very, very best friends at Altitude over the past couple of years. I speak to them everyday, whether we are in class together or not. I think we all know it can be incredibly hard making friends as an adult, so Iāve been incredibly grateful for this.āĀ
Whatās your favourite benefit from pole?
āStrength, flexibility, confidence. My kids are impressed with my muscles. I have zero dance background and I can now do the splits. And I just feel so much better moving through life.ā
Whatās one thing you want people to know about pole?
āIt truly is for everyone. You will think youāre not strong enough, you will think youāre not flexible enough, you will think āoh I donāt have the body for thatā, but if you have a body - you can do pole dancing. It is for EVERYBODY. If you were already strong enough, there would be no point coming to class because what are you going to learn? š You will gain the strength as you move through the levels, you will gain the flexibility if that is what you want; if all you want to do is have a good time moving around the pole and reconnect with a sense of creativity or just move your body in a different way, then pole is for you.ā
You'll find Lizi at Altitude Redwood, slinking around in Floor Flow or trying tricks in Level 4. If you're lucky, you might get to try one of her delicious home baked cookies that are often found in the waiting room!Ā ššŖ

Next up, Jodi!Ā š
Jodi has been with Altitude for over three years. After a rough breakup, Jodi was looking for something to help her both physically and mentally. She is a solo mama to 5 and absolutely smashing it in the studio! Here is what Jodi had to sayĀ šš„°
Was there a positive benefit [from Altitude/pole] you experienced that you weren't expecting?
āThe overall confidence I now have. Iāve always struggled with my confidence and now I am more socially confident, Iām more confident in my own skin, in my own body, and it is something that I was not expecting and itās all because of pole.ā
Whatās your favourite benefit from pole?
āThe fitness side of things. I am able to keep up with my kids when playing with them now, I can easily lean down to tie up my shoe, household chores are so much easier. Just the natural overall fitness and flexibility from doing pole.ā
Whatās one thing you want people to know about pole?
āItās an individual journey, there are no two journeys that look the same. You are not competing against anyone, you are constantly making progress, you can feel that progress and you can see that progress and it makes you feel so good about yourself.ā
Jodi is a proud member at Altitude Drury. She is currently working her way through Level 2 Pole and absolutely loves a flow class! Other hobbies include fire dancing and hiking!! What a badass!Ā šš

Finally, meet Chanelle!Ā š©·
Chanelle started her pole journey at Altitude almost three years ago on a complete whim! Her friends were headed along to find out more about Altitude and she decided to jump in last minute. As a mum of 2, Chanelle was after something that was just for her.Ā Here is what Chanelle had to say šš„°
Was there a positive benefit [from Altitude/pole] you experienced that you weren't expecting?
āThe empowerment. Everybody cheers everybody on in class. And I think that rolls on into everyday life; if you have a nice thought about someone, or a compliment for them, TELL THEM! Donāt keep it in your head, itās wasted in your head. Make their day!ā
Whatās your favourite benefit from pole?
āStrength & Confidence. Iāve built up so much strength and with that has come confidence. I am doing stuff that I did not know my body could do.ā
Whatās one thing you want people to know about pole?
āItās literally for anyone. It doesnāt matter your age, gender, size, lifestyle, what you have going on, you come to the studio and we all just support each other.ā
Chanelle is a member at Altitude Onehunga and finds that no matter what kind of day she has had, stepping into the studio will help melt away any stresses. She loves the community at Altitude and finds herself inspired by others every dayĀ š©·
We absolutely LOVE hearing these stories!Ā š And feel so grateful having these babes as our Ambassadors for Altitude!Ā š
