What to expect.
Welcome to Altitude Central - where it all began! We are the largest Altitude Pole studio in NZ and are lucky enough to have our sister brand, Altitude Aerials here also. We have 4 rooms all with tall dance studio mirrors that stretch the length of the rooms, a Waiting Room and a separate Consult Room. When you enter, you'll walk into our cozy waiting room, with toilets and changing rooms to your left and seating all around, communal puzzles to complete while you wait and our consult room will be just off to your right where you'll be greeted with open arms!
Our pole rooms consist of the Atrium, which has 11x 45mm stainless steel x-poles, all fitted with x-joints and the Boudoir which is a luxurious space with 10x 45mm stainless steel x-poles, and 2x 40mm Stainless Steel x-poles. Most of our Heels and Floorwork classes can be found in this room. Over on the other side of the building you'll find the Lounge. This is a smaller space dedicated for all our Stretch, Dance and Extra classes! Divided by a large curtain, just past the Lounge, we have the Sky Room. The Sky is where all things aerials happens, we specialize in aerial silks, lyra and aerial sling. Consisting of 6x adjustable rig points, all with big blue crash mats underneath for safety.
Every class has the same format - a guided warmup, skills, then cooldown. The moves change, but you'll always know what kind of class you're walking into. And when you're ready to explore the rest of the timetable - booty, stretch, flow, heels - you'll see there's loads of different ways to move. Find what you love, do more of that.
At our studio, we warmly embrace individuals of all fitness levels! Whether you're a seasoned athlete or a complete beginner, we're thrilled to provide a supportive and motivating space for you to pursue your personal fitness goals. Your journey with us will be filled with encouragement and friendly camaraderie, ensuring that you feel right at home as you strive to achieve your best!

What's on our Timetable.

Classes built to take you somewhere
Altitude Christchurch Central runs a full timetable of pole dancing classes from Level 1 (beginner) through to Level 5 (advanced) and aerials from Level 1 to Level 4 - so wherever you start, there's somewhere to go.
Beyond the levels, the timetable is stacked with classes that deepen what you're learning. Spin pole, combos, flow, flexibility, strength.
And if you're curious about heels or floor and basework - both have 101 (beginner) to 102 (intermediate)
Every class on this timetable was chosen deliberately. So whatever brought you here - you'll find plenty of things that keep you coming back.
A few things people usually wonder about.
Will I fit in?
Yes. The community at Altitude is actually the thing people talk about most. It tends to make even the most nervous first-timers feel at home pretty fast. It's our best flex.
What if I struggle in class?
Finding your feet with something new is just part of the process - and honestly, it's where a lot of the fun lives. Every class is full of people all figuring it out together.
Do I need to be fit or strong to start?
Nope. Level 1 is designed for people starting from scratch - no experience, no upper body strength required. That stuff comes with the classes.
Go on, give it a go 😏
You'll never know till you know...
Here's how you can give classes a go at Altitude Christchurch Central, no strings attached.

What comes after a Starter Pass?
That would be one of our memberships.
At some point pole stops being something you're testing out and starts being something you just... do.
Classes get a permanent slot in your week. You might start scheduling the rest of your life around them (which is actually just making yourself a priority, ya know?)
That's what our memberships are for. Regular classes to keep chasing those wins.

While you're here, this is what else we get up to.
