The coolest thing on their schedule.

Give them something to brag about at school.

Our Youth Aerial Program caters to all skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced students, with classes designed to build strength, flexibility, confidence, and aerial technique. Students train on aerial sling, hoop, and silks in a fun, supportive environment, progressing from foundational skills through to advanced tricks, sequences, and performance quality. For those wanting extra practice, our supervised Open Training sessions provide additional time to refine skills, build strength, and progress at their own pace.

Classes for every stage.

Aerial classes at Altitude Christchurch Central run across three levels - so wherever your child is starting from, there's a class that's right for them.

Pink And Blue Flowers

Aerials Youth - Beginner

Where it all begins.

Your child doesn't need any experience to start - just curiosity and a willingness to give something new a go.

Our beginner aerial classes introduce kids to the world of silks, hoop and sling.

They'll learn the foundations - how to climb, how to move, how to find shapes in the air - in a safe, supportive environment with instructors who genuinely love teaching kids this stuff.

It's challenging enough to keep them engaged. Fun enough that they'll be talking about it all the way home.

Pink And Blue Flowers

Aerials Youth - Intermediate

Ready for more.

They've got the basics down. Now it gets interesting.

Intermediate aerial classes build on those foundations - more complex shapes, more challenging climbs, more time in the air doing things that look seriously impressive. The skills stack up fast at this level.

Pink And Blue Flowers

Aerials Youth - Advanced

Built for the ones who are ready.

Advanced aerial classes are for kids who've put in the time and are ready to push what they can do. Harder combinations, more demanding shapes, and the kind of moves that make people stop and stare.

They've earned this level. Now they get to show it.

Our Aerial Youth Class FAQ

Is it safe?

Safety is really important to us. Class sizes are kept small so instructors can give every student the attention they need - and our kids aerial instructors are trained specifically for teaching young people in the air. On top of that, all equipment is regularly checked and replaced when needed, and crash mats are always in place.

Safety isn't an afterthought here - it's the whole foundation

Does my child need any experience or strength to start?

Nope. Beginner classes are designed for kids starting from scratch - no prior training, no gymnastics background, no existing strength required. They'll build all of that through the classes themselves.

Most kids are surprised by how quickly they progress, kids usually beat adults in progress speed.

What should they wear?

Leggings and a comfortable fitted top are perfect. They'll want leggings rather than shorts - the fabric helps protect their skin from the apparatus. Make sure to leave jewelry at home too, including rings. It can get in the way and damage the equipment - especially the silks.
